Challenge Number 2 – The Adventure Triathlon!

Tomorrow morning I set back off to the lake district ready to take part in the Helly Hansen Adventure Triathlon with David Riley and Mark Edwards on Saturday morning.  This should be a good one and hopefully will give a good idea of how training’s going for the half-marathon and marathon and also a good introduction into adventure racing….. Tough Mudder!!?!!

An Adventure Triathlon with a difference!

The challenge normally takes around 3-5hours to complete for most teams and will involve off-road running, off-road mountain biking and a kayak section. All teams must stick together at all times and the exact format of the course is not revealed until the morning of the event! There are an additional one or two extra challenges thrown in around the course too with the idea to test you further, and to finish, all competitors must climb “the slippery wall”!?!

All in all, it should be a good, hard challenge and hopefully good fun along the way too! Its one i’ve wanted to do for a few years now so glad to finally be doing it! Cant wait – bring it on!!!

Also, im looking at putting a team together for the Tough Mudder event in Scotland in July 2012 this year. Dubbed “probably the toughest event on the planet” it will one hell of a challenge! They even give people free tattoos at the end to say they’ve done it! Any one interested in joining the team, let me know.
